Design a Community Cognitive Health Program
Adriane Berg, CEO, Generation Bold
Discover the step by step process by which Rockland County's Mental Health Association created a cognitive fitness program for older residents, implemented it, and created a research protocol, training manual for professionals, caregivers and older adults to improve and strengthen memory, driving skills and more, toward an increased ability to "age in place." Strategies for effective public, private and governmental coalitions for low cost service delivery revealed.
The program is designed to
Eliminate elder isolation that comes of boredom, marginalization and cognitive decline
Increase computer literacy and facilitate assistive technologies
Determine personality profiles of those engaging in self-care
Make the seeking of mental health support stigma-free for older adults and "boomers"
