| On January 15th, 2009, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Hawaii (HMSA) made history on two fronts. It became the first health plan in the nation to offer on-demand healthcare access to consumers with Online Care. In so doing, it also became the first to provide quality, affordable healthcare services to everyone in its home state, regardless of their location or coverage. In this session, Michael Cheng, SVP at HMSA, and Dr. Roy Schoenberg, CEO of American Well Systems, will discuss the unique partnership that made this possible. Key topics will include the successful planning and implementation of Online Care, feedback from physicians and patients along the way, and future plans to expand Online Care to continue to lower the barriers to healthcare access in Hawaii. |
