Dr. Kevin Volpp to Give Keynote Address on the Industry's Hot Button Topic: Behavioral Economics
Volpp
Kevin Volpp, MD, PhD is the Director of the Center for Health Incentives at the University of Pennsylvania's Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (LDI), the hub of Penn's activities and programs in health services research, health policy, and health care management executive education. Dr. Volpp's research program focuses on the impact of financial and organizational incentives on health outcomes.
His work developing and testing innovative ways of incenting patients using concepts from behavioral economics includes examination of the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of financial incentives in smoking cessation, obesity, and medication adherence has been published in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and Health Affairs. Dr. Volpp is also a Staff Physician with the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and an Associate Professor at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Wharton School.
