Timothy H. Ling was named Executive Vice President, North America Energy Operations, in March 1999. He joined Unocal in 1997 as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Management Committee, and continues in that strategic role, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and investor relations. Since 1990, Ling was leader of the McKinsey consulting team working with Unocal, focusing on development of the company’s new corporate strategies, improvement of Unocal’s asset portfolio, and organizing the company for growth. Prior to joining Unocal, he had been an employee of McKinsey & Company since 1989 and a partner of the firm since 1994. He has broad consulting experience in corporate finance and strategy with a client base that included major utility, energy and commercial banking firms.
