Jerome Esmay
Principal Engineer & Sector Specialist
IFC

Jerome Esmay is Principal Engineer and Sector Specialist for Environment Projects in the Technical and Environment Department of the IFC. Since joining IFC in 1992, Mr. Esmay has been instrumental in developing and financing of all IFC projects in the water and waste management sectors. Among these are IFC investments in: Buenos Aires; Limeira; Puerto Vallarta; Ho Chi Minh City; and Bangalore; and IFC advisory assignments assisting national, regional, and local governments in: Manila; Bucharest; Moscow; Beijing; Beirut; Dakar; Durban, and several Brasilian cities; in privatization of operations and/or structuring BOT’s. Prior to joining IFC, he was a consultant and advisor to public water companies in Sao Paulo, Lima, Amman, Riyadh, Cairo, and Ankara. He received a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington and a Masters in Environmental Engineering/Economic Planning from Stanford.
