Developing mobile and connected solutions to meet the challenges of global health care

Developing a sustainably affordable health care system is one of the true global challenges, facing every single country. Containing rapidly spiraling costs is the issue in the developed health systems of the west. While in the emerging health systems, enabling affordable access to quality care is the challenge.

Mobile health and connected health technologies such as telemedicine have the potential to lower the cost of care delivery at each stage across whole disease pathways. And of delivering low cost care in new ways to people who would otherwise have no access. Connected health therefore presents enormous opportunities to health systems looking to transform through innovation.

Adoption has so far has been slow because key challenges remain for providers, payers, Governments and the mobile and medical device industries. The World Connected Health Care Congress has been developed as a global forum to enable sharing between health systems and to drive forwards the delivery of connected health care.
