No surgeon would ever enter the operating room without a refined understanding of the relevant anatomy and physiology. Yet one of the compelling reasons for the chronically high failure rates of change initiatives is a limited appreciation for the fact that change comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Beyond this, there is recognition that the processes and skills necessary to run an organization are quite different from the processes and skills needed to change an organization. Add to this the all too familiar refrain, "I want our organization to be the best...but I don't want it to change" and we recognize why we are having this workshop - to provide a framework and tools that make the change process clear and effective and to have the innovation endure.
