She has served as CEO of the Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy and was a Vice President at Cigna Healthcare focusing on Trade Relations, Customer Service and Medical Cost Management.
Ms. Pigg holds an Masters in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University and B.S. degrees in Pharmacy and Medical Technology, as well as numerous awards and honors from national and state pharmacy associations. Dr. Indranil Bagchi is the former Vice President and Head of Payer Insights and Access at Pfizer, where he leads efforts to understand payer perspectives and develop the market access strategy for the entire Pfizer portfolio, including the payer value proposition, pricing strategy and reimbursement support across all disease areas and markets. Indranil has two decades of experience in Pricing & Reimbursement, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, and Market Access across several major companies in the pharmaceutical industry.
Indranil is a frequent speaker and contributor to forums, articles and conferences addressing issues related to access to medicines. In 2014, Indranil received the ‘Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business’ award by the Asian American Business Development Center. In 2010, Indranil was recognized in Pharmaceutical Executive magazine’s annual roster of Emerging Leaders, “The New Breed of Leadership.” Due to his efforts in securing and expanding market access for Enbrel, Indranil was awarded the Wyeth President’s Achieving Excellence Award in 2005.
Previously at Pfizer, he was Vice President and Head of Market Access for the Specialty Care Business Unit and prior to that, he was Senior Director/Team Leader in Pfizer’s Global Pricing and Reimbursement Group. Prior to joining Pfizer, Indranil was Senior Director at Wyeth responsible for pricing, reimbursement and market access of products within the Bio-Pharma Business Unit. Before Wyeth, Indranil was first with SmithKline Beecham and subsequently with GlaxoSmithKline with their Health Economics and Outcomes Research departments. Dr. Bagchi has an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy, a master’s degree in Pharmacy and Healthcare Administration and a doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Socioeconomics.

As an applied health economist and market access strategist, Roman has personally led hundreds of engagements in the international market access and HEOR context related to product value demonstration and has deep experience in the management of multidisciplinary teams of scientific and strategic consultants across continents. Roman’s experience ranges from analytical activities such as economic modelling and database studies, to strategic activities such as developing product pricing and market access plans and communicating evidence internally and externally for our customers. Roman has experience across the product lifecycle, including assessment of early phase assets, licensing due diligence, and go/no-go decision-making support, as well as launch planning and commercialization activities.

Michele has over 20 years’ experience in health care leadership positions. She has worked in health care in the Puget Sound area for the over 26 years in various business development, revenue cycle focused and clinical roles. UW Medicine is an accountable health organization (UW Medicine ACO) and has created its own UW Medicine Accountable Health Network (UW Medicine ACN).
Michele began her career at UW Medicine serving at Harborview Medical Center as the Director of Contracting and Payer Relations for nearly a year. In her current position, for over 5 years, she is responsible for the relationships with Payers, ACO negotiation and implementation (both on the ACN formation side and on the ACO direct to payer/employer side) for both the UW Medicine ACO and the UW Medicine ACN. She is also accountable for, among other items, the actuarial relationship for UW Medicine and the negotiation process of payer contracts and all aspects of payer or employer contract reporting within UW Medicine including Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians.
Before coming to UW Medicine, Michele worked in progressive leadership positions in her approximately 20 years at Overlake Hospital Medical Center, Virginia Mason Medical Center and Valley Medical Center.
Michele is a Fellow in of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Association, and CoC and CPC-h certified by AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders). Additionally Michele is a Member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the Washington Mediation Association (WMA).
Michele has an Executive Certificate in Advanced negotiations from University of Notre Dame. She graduated from Taft University W. Edwards Deming School of Business with honors (Magna Cum Laude) with an MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration, has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Organizational behavior both from Central Washington University. Edmund Pezalla, M.D., MPH, is Aetna's leading executive for issues related to pharmaceutical development, reimbursement strategy, and drug evaluation. Recently Dr. Pezalla served as a consultant for the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology for their report: Propelling Innovation in Drug Discovery, Development and Evaluation. Dr. Pezalla is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Connecticut Innovations Biosciences Fund.
Dr. Pezalla is currently leading Aetna's innovative partnership initiatives with device and pharmaceutical manufacturers including pay-for-performance and shared risk programs.
Previously Dr. Pezalla was Chief Clinical Officer for Aetna Pharmacy Management from July 2007 to July 2010. Prior to his career in pharmaceuticals Tom spent six years living in Paraguay where he had several jobs including Peace Corps Volunteer, Advisor to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Director of Investments for the City of Asuncion.
Tom received a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Tom and his wife, Suse, have two daughters and reside in Cary, North Carolina.

Until recently, Dr. Shrank served as the Director of the Rapid-Cycle Evaluation Group at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Dr. Shrank led the evaluation of a $10 billion health reform research agenda to develop and test new payment models aimed at reducing the cost and improving the quality of care in the U.S. Dr. Shrank was a key architect of the design of all new payment models tested at CMMI, and also led the intramural research enterprise at CMS.
Dr. Shrank serves or has served on national advisory committees for the FDA, AHRQ, CMS, HHS, ASPE, USP, and the American College of Physicians Foundation. He attended Brown University, received his M.D. from Cornell University, and earned an M.S. in Health Services from UCLA.
