His life changing inventions include the first wearable infusion, a phone book-sized dialysis machine - at a time when similar devices were as big as dishwashers and required patients to make regular trips to dialysis centers., and the IBOT -- a robotic personal transporter that can climb stairs, traverse rugged terrain, and raise its user to eye-level with a standing person. His latest project has been creating a machine that can produce clean water cheaply and assist under-developed countries and regions gain access to a life saving, clean drinking water.
