Health plans have known for years just how important having an engaged member can be. Members who are engaged with their plans are typically better stewards of their own health, driving improved clinical outcomes and decreased total cost of care. Engaged members are also typically more satisfied with their plans, translating to better retention and increased quality scores. Over the past year, the pandemic has underscored the value of an engaged member. It’s opened up new opportunities for engagement and satisfaction, while simultaneously raising the bar as to what types, channels, and personalization of communication members expect from their plans. This panel of health plan executives share innovations, and areas of focus for their organizations in these areas, with discussion around how they are managing resources and scaling these initiatives to have the most impact.

  • Explore how plans are engaging members to gain insights and develop better health supports around the social determinants influencing their health
  • Learn about ways plans are bolstering and scaling efforts around their chronic condition management programs
  • Examine other population health management initiatives designed to identify and engage various population subsets, such as rising-risk populations
  • Discuss new channels and experience efforts to improve customer service and member satisfaction
