Dr. Nelson Le genuinely believes that the delivery of healthcare can be more efficient and effective. He is a senior executive who brings 20+ years of healthcare, business, and digital experience to translating healthcare challenges into business opportunities and applying process-driven, solution-oriented, innovative strategies. He is dedicated to improving healthcare through mission, margin, and compassion.
At Humana, Nelson works closely with business leaders across the enterprise in his role of AVP of Product Strategy within the Digital Health & Analytics (DH&A;) organization. Most recently, he has worked on the Digital Health Platform, enterprise COVID-19 vaccine response, and Conviva-IoMT initiative with Microsoft. In addition to his responsibilities, Nelson is the Vice-President of the Humana Asian Pacific Islander (HAPI) Network Resource Group (NRG) and help established the ACE Committee which advances equity, diversity, and inclusion within DH&A.;
Prior to Humana, Nelson served as the Medical Director and Vice President at AVIA Health Innovation where he partnered with C-suite executives at large IDNs and Children’s Hospitals to harness the power of digital solutions to solve pressing healthcare challenges. He also has held executive positions at InterSystems and McKesson.
Nelson is a Pediatric Cardiologist subspecializing in Heart Failure and Transplant. He earned his MD from Boston University’s Accelerated BA/MD Program, completed his Residency in Pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at top-ranked Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health and Sciences University and earned his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Outside of work, the activities that spark joy for Nelson are: exploring all things related to food (challenging recipes, new restaurants, local dives, food destinations), playing tennis, teaching himself to play the violin, writing about his experiences growing up as a refugee and immigrant, and serving on the Board of Directors for Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation USA, a non-profit that rescues street children from trafficking in Vietnam.
