The driving force behind Loma Linda University's eight schools, five hospitals, numerous local and international outreach programs, and countless physician offices is the goal to help people become whole-sound in body, mind, and spirit. The university teaches students to do this throughout their future careers in medicine, dentistry, public health, pharmacy, science and technology, nursing, religion, and the allied health professions. In patient care, in addition to Loma Linda University Medical Center, the network of Loma Linda hospitals includes a behavioral health center, a rehabilitation hospital, a specialty heart and surgical hospital, and a children's hospital that is an international leader in infant heart transplantation. Loma Linda University also goes to the community with medical services and outreach programs that help children and adults in need in California's Inland Empire.
