AIM is a grouping of autonomous healthcare insurance and social protection bodies operating according to the principles of solidarity and non-profit-making orientation. Currently, AIM's membership consists of 43 national federations representing 30 countries worldwide. They provide social coverage against sickness and other social risks to more than 160 million people, either by participating directly in the management of compulsory health insurance or by offering supplementary, alternative or substitute coverage. The German Federation of Managed Care (BMC) is a pluralistic non-profit -association, developing patient-oriented concepts to optimize medical care and to guarantee the sustainability of the German health care system. Serving as an expert forum the BMC encourages contacts between association members and partners in the German and international health market and is involved in political debate, public relations and knowledge-management. The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) is the representative organization of around 1.3 million European doctors through its members, the most representative National Medical Associations from 27 full member countries and 5 further associate and observer countries.

The European Association of Hospital Managers (EAHM), founded in 1970, consists of national member associations from 26 European countries, who represent about 22.000 hospital directors and executives. Since 2004 associate members are also welcomed. EAHM aims at promoting the professional competence and responsibility of hospital managers in Europe. Through its activities, EAHM fosters also the growing together of the hospital systems of the European countries as the basis for the construction of a Social Europe. Besides representing the hospital management profession and its interests in the competent European organisations and international bodies, EAHM publishes also the bi-monthly tri-lingual magazine "Hospital". The European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) was conceived at a meeting, assisted by the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organisation (WHO), in Copenhagen in September 1976. The representatives of national Health / Medical Informatics societies from ten European countries signed a declaration of intent stating: "The Federation shall be constituted as a nonprofit organisation concerned with the theory and practice of Information Science and Technology within Health and Health Science in a European context. We declare that the ten delegates here today from the ten national societies shall constitute the preliminary Council of the Federation which thus hereby exists." Copenhagen, 11 September 1976.
The European Health Telematics Association ("EHTEL"), provides to its members a platform for information lobbying, representation, networking and co-operation in support of the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in health and social care in Europe.

The European Nurse Directors Association (ENDA) was founded in 1992 in Geneva, Switzerland for the purpose of building a network between nurse directors throughout Europe. The following years ENDA developed itself and identified its key objectives. ENDA is a member of ESNO (European Specialist Nurses Organisations, an associated member of the European Federation of Nurses Associations (EFN)). ESQH is a voluntary society registered as a charity in the Republic of Ireland. Its full members are National Societies for Quality in Healthcare, and there are currently members in 18 countries. The Society is committed to improving the quality of healthcare through networking, learning and sharing. It is run by an Executive Board made up of elected members, is administered through a Secretariat based in Ireland, and currently operates 6 franchised Offices, each charged with a specific strategic task. ESQH has recently been a partner in two EU-funded research projects, it hosts two scientific workshops per year, and runs an interactive membership-based website: www.esqh.net.
Uehp, European Union of Private Hospitals, based in the heart of the European institutional district in Brussels, was created in 1971 and counts 15 members, representing 4500 hospitals. It's main goals are to defend and represent independent hospitals all over Europe. The private sector has its own place and function within the regional and national hospitals network and it is involved in the social dialogue, intended to promote the hospitals sector within the framework of a global health policy. Accepting the same obligations as the public hospital sector, it is entitled to the same rights. The private hospital sector is the indispensable tool for a medicine in the service of the patient. This baring in mind three important principles: free access, equity, quality and economic sustainability of health services.

ICMCC (International Council on Medical & Care Compunetics) is an international foundation operating as the knowledge center for medical and care compunetics (COMPUting & Networking, its EThICs and Social/societal implications), making information on medicine and care available to patients using compunetics as well as distributing information on the use of compunetics in medicine and care to patients and professionals. NVEH, the Dutch Association of eHealth, is the main association for e-Health and telemedicine in the Netherlands. Quality in care is central to its mission.
