Dr. Johan Bastin is an expert in municipal finance and public infrastructure finance and has extensive experience in emerging and transition economies. At the European Bank, Dr. Bastin is responsible for financing investments in municipal and environmental infrastructure and services. Previously, he held a senior position at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation. He had also been Resident Director for the Harvard Institute for International Development and served as Senior Advisor to the Indonesian Minister of Finance. Dr. Bastin holds a Master’s degree in urban planning and a Ph.D. in public administration and finance.
