In July of 1997, Mayor Bill Campbell appointed Larry Wallace as Chief Operating Officer for the City of Atlanta. Before July 1997, Mr. Wallace oversaw the City’s Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Operations. In this capacity, Mr. Wallace is responsible for assessing and improving the management and performance of all sewer facilities and personnel. Larry Wallace brings to the City of Atlanta more than twenty years of experience in environmental law and public policy. As an attorney, educator and consultant working in both the private and public sectors, he has acquired extensive knowledge in the management of natural resources at the local, state and federal levels. Throughout his career, Mr. Wallace has advocated the use of environmentally responsible policies which protect the public’s health and interests. His work has earned him a reputation as a goal-oriented mediator and problem-solver.
