Mike Barrett is the executive director of ACO services at HCP ACO and vice president of its sister company HCP IPA in New York City. Prior to joining HCP ACO, he assisted several organizations in their ACO applications and initial startup operations. Prior to these key assignments, he was president for a start-up precursor for the MSSP/Accountable Care Organization and then successfully negotiated the sale of the company. He oversaw the creation of risk adjustment, information technology, and physician performance reporting, as well as, Medical Directors and case management functions. Mr. Barrett has held executive positions at a large hospital system, was senior vice president of a managed Medicare physician group, and held CFO/COO position at HMOs.

In addition to these recent events, Mr. Barrett brings 25 years of experience in both payer and provider operations from the managed care perspective. He has held executive positions at a large hospital system, Sr. VP of a managed Medicare physician group, as well as, CFO/COO position at HMOs and brings a unique understanding of the detailed processes and business metrics of both payer and provider segments. In addition to his insight into the operating imperatives, his continuing involvement in the technical deliberations of key Medicare operating divisions provides differential vision into the regulatory process. Mr. Barrett has held the position of CEO, COO and CFO of medium to large health care and managed care payer organizations. He has also completed large employer payer and vendor selection, claims, enrollment and compliance audits, network development, strategic planning and process re-engineering projects for his clients.
