Jay Eisenstock has over 25 years of management and technology consulting experience along with significant health insurance industry knowledge. He is currently a Business Program Senior Manager at Aetna. In this capacity, he leads an implementation team who work closely with physicians, hospitals and other care professionals to encourage increased electronic transaction adoption and utilization. He also leads the vendor management and strategic relationship teams who contract with vendors and clearinghouses to implement Aetna's full suite of electronic transactions. Mr. Eisenstock’s prior role at Aetna was leading the company's efforts to achieve HIPAA compliance for electronic transactions.
Prior to joining Aetna, Mr. Eisenstock was Vice President of the web development and business intelligence line of business for a technology consulting firm. Mr. Eisenstock also held various leadership and technical positions with Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS).
Mr. Eisenstock has a Bachelor of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. In 2007, the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) presented Mr. Eisenstock with the WEDI Leadership in Technology award.
He is a former WEDI director and a current Electronic Health Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) commissioner. Mr. Eisenstock currently co-chairs the Council for Affordable Quality Health Care (CAQH) Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE) Joint Certification/Enforcement and Testing Subgroup. He was also recently selected by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) to be one of twenty participants in its Health Information Exchange Work Group.
