Martha Sylvia, RN, MSN, MBA is the Director of Clinical Outcomes and Evaluation for Johns Hopkins HealthCare. Ms. Sylvia has 10 years of clinical nursing experience and spends half of her time directing care management programs for health plan enrollees of an academic health center, self-funded health plan. She also provides leadership for a workgroup of Hopkins administrators in the planning, design and implementation of an employee wellness program. As a member of the Johns Hopkins HealthCare Outcomes Research group, Ms. Sylvia develops enrollment and targeting algorithms and outcomes evaluation designs for multiple disease and care management programs within different health plans; directs a team of data analysts providing outcomes evaluation results and other reporting; directs a team of clinical screeners, targeting and enrollment clinical experts, who are the initial point of contact for care management enrollees; and works with other Hopkins’ researchers in designing and implementing their research plans. She is committed to improvement in healthcare population management and quality outcomes measurement that leads to the implementation of efficient and effective programs.
Ms. Sylvia is a PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She received her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Vermont and her Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration from the Johns Hopkins University Schools of Nursing and Professional Studies in Business and Education.
