John Holcomb, Vice President, Healthcare Operations, currently leads the Retail Clinics, Professional Services, Safety & Quality, Finance, and Business Partnership Teams for Target’s Healthcare businesses. He also leads the strategy for Target’s Healthcare Technology development roadmap.
Mr. Holcomb has a long history of progressive growth and contributions at Target. He joined Target in 1997 as an area manager for Healthcare leading the teams in Florida, Texas and Oklahoma. In 2001, he became a member of the Benefits Team, which helped guide and support a major consolidation of team member healthcare benefits across Target, Marshall Fields, Dayton Hudson, and Mervyn’s stores. From 2003 to 2006, he was a buyer for Target Bikes and Fitness, leading the reinvention of these fitness departments. As a buyer, he implemented key trend, negotiation, and import strategies before rejoining the Healthcare team.
Prior to joining Target, Mr. Holcomb spent 2 years as a Clinical Pharmacist upon graduating from the University of Toledo’s College of Pharmacy, where he is a current member of the Dean’s Commission on Pharmacy Education. In 1993, he started his healthcare leadership career as the Professional Services Manager for Finast Supermarkets’ 40 pharmacies, a regional grocer in Northeast Ohio.
Passions outside of Target include being a Little League Head Coach for his son’s 11 yo baseball team, and the School Board Treasurer for Minnetonka, MN Schools, a U.S. top 200 District.
