Kathleen Herath
Vice President, Health and Wellness
Kathleen Herath oversees all health and wellness activities through Associate Health Services at Nationwide for the company’s 35,000 associates.

In this role, Herath is responsible for the company’s integrated health and productivity program, which includes: health promotion, disability management, pandemic planning, the Nationwide Wellness Center, counseling, work-life resources, the Federal Medical Leave Act, a substance free workplace, occupational safety and health administration, and 10 clinics across the country.

Herath has 24 years of professional experience in the health care industry. In 1990, she joined Nationwide as a Rehabilitation consultant. Then, in 1997, she managed the implementation of the integrated disability management program at Nationwide.

Prior to Nationwide, Herath worked as a pediatric burns nurse at Shriners Burns Institute in Cincinnati, and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

She received her nursing degree from Kettering College of Medical Arts. She resides in Hilliard, Ohio, with her husband Kirk and her two sons: Spencer and Max. Her hobbies include reading, remodeling vacation homes and participating in triathlons.
