Pricing for events is broken down into separate sectors. To see if you are qualified for specific industry prices please refer to the definitions below. Not all Industry definitions are applicable to every event. Please refer to the events pricing page to view the appropriate prices.

Note: If you submit payment for an industry price that you do not qualify, our customer service team will contact you to settle any pricing discrepancies.

Academic

A person who is currently employed Fulltime and/or a Fulltime student at a college, university. Must provide an email address ending with, ".edu" or similar.

ACO

The accountable care organization (ACO) category includes groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers who are coordinating care for their patients, either under government or commercial payer arrangements. If you are a solutions provider to this space, please see standard pricing.

Advisors

A person who advises clients on issues relating to his/her business, including financial, legal, and money management. This person is typically someone who is an expert in a particular field. This person falls under our "standard rate" price point, similar to that of a consultant, unless otherwise noted on the pricing page.

Advocacy Group

A non-profit organization in the United States dedicated to improving access to, and reimbursement for, high-quality healthcare through regulatory and legislative reform at the state and federal levels and/or which provides professional case management services to Americans with chronic, life-threatening and debilitating illnesses.

Asset Managers / Emerging Managers / Investment Managers / Fund Managers

A person who manages various types of securities (shares, bonds, funds and other securities) and assets (eg. real estate) for institutional or private investors. This category includes registered investment advisors who have their own investment vehicle (ie, fund) that solicits external investors.

Association

A person is employed by a non profit member organization.

Association Meeting Manager

Corporate Life Sciences, Medical Device and Healthcare Meeting, Procurement, Travel and Compliance Professionals who are employed directly by one of the previously associations.

Consultant

A person within a consultancy agency who providers advice and support for other organizations. These companies fall under our "standard rate" price point, unless otherwise noted on the pricing page.

Corporate (Marketing, Innovation, Strategy, Social Media, M&A)

A in-house executive responsible for the internal management of a specific business function.

Corporate Meeting Managers

Corporate Life Sciences, Medical Device and Healthcare Meeting, Procurement, Travel and Compliance Professionals who are employed directly by one of the previously stated corporations.

Destination Management Company Executives

A person who serves as a third party that specializes in assisting corporations or associations with organizing large events in a specified city.

Employer HQ Gold Circle

The Employer HQ Gold Circle is for HR, Benefits, and Employee Wellness professionals as defined on our website. QUALIFICATIONS TO PARTICIPATE: Must have a title that is obviously and explicitly HR, Benefits, or Employee Wellness/Well-Being (CFOs are welcome). Organization must have a verifiable minimum of 100 employees. Your organization must not be an HR, wellness, or benefits vendor or consultant, or a third-party benefits administrator. Qualification for the program is necessary and verification is required. Approval is at the sole discretion of World Congress.

Government

A person who works at a government, federal or state or local agency. Vendors or Consultants to the government would not qualify for this rate

Health plan/insurer

Any plan or organized format, such as an HMO, preferred provider organization, point-of-service plans

Hospice

A person who is employed by an organization that provides care for terminally ill patients

HR/Benefit/Wellness Professional titles

A person whose primary responsibility is to handle the health, benefit and wellness initiatives for the employees within their organization. The organization may not be in the business of selling Benefits and wellness programs or consulting for these services.

Independent Hospitals

A hospital not owned by, subsidiary of, or fiscally connected to a health plan or integrated health system.

In-House Counsel

A lawyer who draws a full-time salary from a corporation that he or she represents; working in-house on the corporation’s legal matters. The corporation may not be in the business of IP management or services, or outsourced counsel.

Institutional Investors (Family Offices, Pension Plans, Endowments, Insurance, SWF)

A person with an organization which invests and allocates capital to various types of assets: securities, funds, real estate - either through a fund or through direct investment.

Integrated Health Systems

A health care organization that has brought together both the payer (health plan) and provider (hospital) elements: inputs, delivery, management and organization of services related to diagnosis, treatment, care, rehabilitation and health promotion.

Investment Advisor / Consultant

A registered investment advisor who provides analysis and advice to investors on investment strategy and investment allocation. Business development professionals within advisory firms and those responsible for raising funds for their own investment vehicles do not qualify for the advisor / consultant rate and are treated as asset managers.

Law Firms: A business made up of lawyers that work together under a specific firm name. A law firm may only focus on certain kinds of law (i.e. business law) or they may deal with a variety of general law cases. The primary service rendered by a law firm is to advise clients about their legal rights and responsibilities, and to represent clients in civil or criminal cases, business transactions, and other matters in which legal advice and other assistance are sought. Law firms can be composed of as few as two lawyers or as many as one hundred or more. These companies fall under our "Law Firms" price point, unless otherwise noted on the pricing page.

Meeting Supplier Partner

Meeting suppliers and vendors including Hotels, CVB/DMC, Restaurants and other Meeting Venues, Technology and AV Organizations, Meeting Data Organizations and Consultants.

Military

A person who is currently employed by one of the armed services - navy, marines, army and US Coastal Guards

PAC

The PAC category includes professionals working directly for post-acute provider organizations including home health agency (HHA), inpatient rehabilitation facility (IF), skilled nursing facility (SNF), or long term care hospitals (LTCHs). Pharmaceutical

A company that makes, markets and sells pharmaceuticals. These companies fall under our "standard rate" price point, unless otherwise noted on the pricing page.

Physician Groups

A medical group practice not owned by, subsidiary of, or fiscally connected to a health plan or integrated health system.

Solution provider

A company that offers a product or provides a service to a Hospital, Health Plan, Government, Employer organization, but is not a direct employee of that organization.

These companies fall under our "standard rate" price point, unless otherwise noted on the pricing page.

Suppliers or Vendors to the Meetings Industry

Examples Include but not limited to Hoteliers, CVBS, Spend and Data Tracking Companies, Shipping Companies, Transportation Companies serving the meetings industry)

Third Party Administrator

A TPA is generally de fined as a company that administers self-funded employee benefit plans (such as health, welfare, workers' compensation, and retirement plans) on behalf of an employer or plan sponsor. TPAs may be independently owned and operated or can be owned by an insurance company, multi-employer group, or association.

Third Party Meeting Managers and CROs

Also known as independent planners these are any company that plans meetings. Not to be confused with companies that hold meetings such as a hotel, restaurant etc.

CRO is a Contract Research Organization

Service Providers / Vendors /Suppliers/ Intermediaries

A third-party service provider that delivers professional services such as legal, tax and accounting advice. If services rendered require a fee or some sort of acquisition, then we define you as a service provider / vendor. Service Providers/vendors: A company or organization that provides some kind of communications service, storage service or processing service or any of the three. Some examples of service providers include, but are not limited to the following: Cloud providers or cloud service providers, information location tools, internet service providers. These companies fall under our "standard rate" price point or that similar to commercial, vendors and suppliers rate, unless otherwise noted on the pricing page.
