WORLD CONGRESS TO HOST 4TH ANNUAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT ON
HEALTHCARE QUALITY & PAY-FOR-PERFORMANCE
Timothy R. Murphy, Secretary, Executive Office of Health and Human Services for
Commonwealth of Mass. to Deliver Closing Keynote Speech
WOBURN, MASS. – JUNE 21, 2006 – World Congress, the leading producer of global
healthcare forums such as the The World Healthcare Congress and World Congress
Leadership Summit Series, today announced their 4th Annual Leadership Summit on
Healthcare Quality & Pay-for-Performance, on August 6th-8th in Boston, Mass. This
educational forum convenes industry thought leaders to discuss industry trends, factors
driving pay-for-performance programs, strategies for success, and will also examine
specific challenges for purchasers, provider organizations, health plans and payers. In
addition to this 3-day event, a special 1-day, exclusive seminar, titled: Forces of Change
– Market Dynamics and Strategies for a Shifting Healthcare Market Place with David
Shore, PhD, and provided by Harvard School of Public Health, will be held on August
9th, 2006 at the Conference Center at Harvard Medical School in Boston. For additional
information on this seminar please visit

The Pay-for-Performance summit will outline top level strategies and recent
developments from leading pay-for-performance and quality improvement initiatives. In
addition, discussions will focus on real-world experiences, solutions for program
implementation, as well as overcoming obstacles in building a pay-for-performance
program for everyone challenged in the quest to advance both quality and efficiency in
healthcare.
“The success of our Leadership Summits demonstrates that all sectors of the industry are
committed to addressing the challenges confronting healthcare”, said Nicole Garratt,
president of World Congress. “It’s very rewarding to have assembled a distinguished
panel of industry leaders, many of whom helped create or influence pay-for-performance
initiatives, to share their experiences and successes with delegates.”
Pay-for-Performance is generating both excitement and anxiety in healthcare, and I look
forward to participating in this Summit to discuss what works, what doesn’t, and what is
on the horizon for the next generation of performance measurement and reward”, said
Tom Williams, executive director, Integrated Healthcare Association.
