John M. Kreger, a vice president at MITRE, is chief operating officer at MITRE Engenuity. In this role, he leads operations and programs for Engenuity, the non-profit foundation that engages with industry to pioneer collaborative research and development and innovative technical approaches that solve problems for a safer world.

Kreger is the former vice president of Public Sector Programs within The MITRE Corporation’s Center for Programs and Technology. He was responsible for the organization’s technical work and for developing whole-of-government solutions to address challenges in aviation, financial and economic, healthcare, homeland security, and veterans program areas.

Prior to that, Kreger was responsible for integrating systems engineering capabilities and ensuring best practices across MITRE’s efforts to support the multiple agencies within DHS. He also ensured the quality of MITRE’s diverse portfolio of work programs for DHS. That work crossed such specialized areas as cybersecurity, biometrics, border security, enterprise services, and transportation.

After joining MITRE in 1988, Kreger worked in several capacities to address complex programs for the defense and intelligence communities. Kreger served as director of MITRE’s Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Systems Engineering Office, where he was responsible for integrating DoD and intelligence community policies and standards to enable cross-service and agency interoperability.

Kreger retired from the U.S. Navy as a captain, having served five years on board Navy nuclear submarines and 22 years in the Naval Reserve, including three command tours. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry/natural science from Muhlenberg College. Kreger completed the Air Command and Staff College’s Joint Military Operations program and earned his master’s degree in systems engineering from George Mason University. In 2018, he completed the Higher Ambition Leadership Institute (HALI) executive program.

Andrew is the CEO of Buoy Health, an AI-powered digital health company that aims to be your all-in-one platform for health. Andrew founded Buoy in 2014 with a team of doctors and data scientists at the Harvard Innovation Labs. It was their goal to remove the fear and confusion we often encounter when “googling” our health symptoms by providing a safe, accurate tool to help people self-diagnose. Over the last six years, Andrew has led the company through two successful funding rounds, raising over $30 million, with prominent healthcare investors including Optum, Cigna, Humana, Bill Hambrecht, and F-Prime. He obtained his MD from Harvard Medical School and his BA from Harvard College.
