What are the Patient Choice Awards?

Patient Choice Awards to showcase pharma organizations, collaborations, and programs that demonstrate measurably better and more transparent health outcomes and promote a better patient experience. The Award Ceremony will take place in front of the entire delegation at the Patient Congress with 250+ pharma and health care professionals and partner media groups at the Patient Congress

What is the Patient Congress?

The Patient Congress is focused on incorporating the patient voice across the entire product lifecycle. Through three tailored tracks, examine the pieces integral to the patient journey of both small and large patient populations including patient access, adherence, and advocacy. With more than 250+ industry leaders representing life sciences companies, pharmacies, health plans, provider organizations, patient groups, and patient leaders, join the conversation around innovative and collaborative ways we can improve access and health outcomes for patients. Develop your organization’s patient-centric strategy from drug development through commercialization, break down internal silos, and improve patients’ lives across the entire continuum of care.

How do I nominate someone?

Please visit our nomination page and fill out the nomination form. Select the award you want to nominate someone or yourself for and tell us a bit about the nominee you’re recognizing. Once you're finished nominating your favorite program, company, or individual, feel free to share that nomination with your community or send a tweet using the hashtag #PatientChoiceAwards.

How can I get involved?

Thanks for asking! We'd love to have you nominate any pharma organization or individuals you know that are fitting applicants for the award. You can also share the Patient Choice Awards with your colleagues and industry friends. Everyone is welcome to nominate. 

Can I nominate myself?

Of course! We hope you'll reach out to your industry contacts, as well as the online community, and ask them to nominate their favorite initiatives- but we also want to hear from you.

How do you pick the finalists?

After the nomination period officially ends on Sunday, January 21st, WEGO Health, World Congress, and the Judging panel will choose a group of finalists with the help of a selected group of Patient Leaders. Finalists will be selected based on their relevancy to that particular award based on the nomination form. The information you provide will help determine their likelihood to win.

How do you pick the winners?

After all the nominations have been received and reviewed – and a group of finalists has been selected - our judging panels will carefully review the group of finalists and score each finalists across our award categories. The Patient Choice Judging Panels will be comprised of Patient and Pharma Activists.

When will the winner's be announced?

Each winner of the Patient Choice Awards, along with finalists, will be recognized at an Awards Ceremony at the Patient Congress- held March 11th  in Philadelphia.

Can I tell the person I nominated about the nomination?

That is entirely up to you! If you'd like to share your nomination with the nominee, your community, or others - go for it. It's a great way to illustrate how important the nominee is to the patient community. We hope to receive a great amount of nominations and a great way to inspire people to get involved is by sharing how you got involved. If you'd rather keep your nomination anonymous, simply check the box at the bottom of the nomination form.

Terms and Conditions: Nomination Process

Awards will be judged fairly and an appropriate judging panel will be used to select finalists and winners. From December 4th to February 5tha group of finalists will be selected by a group of qualified individuals from WEGO Health, World Congress and Industry.  If an award is associated with the work of one of our judges within a nomination in any of the award categories, that judge will be removed from the judging process in that specific category to assure absolute fairness during evaluation and to other nominations. Once finalists are selected, the top five from each category will be posted on the World Congress website for review.

Overall Evaluation Criteria from Judges:

  • Innovation: differentiation, advantage and achievement
  • Creativity: uniqueness, memorability and originality
  • Authenticity: genuine message, engagement and realism
  • Overall value: sustainability, social reach and importance


There will be two judging panels, one to select finalists from the first round of nominations and employees on the judging panel one panel to select the winners of each category from the finalist.
