Schedule / Due Dates:

  • Abstract submission final deadline is May 16, 2008.
  • The date the World Health Care Innovation and Technology Congress will send notice of accepted proposals and poster sessions is October 16, 2008. However, most accepted submissions will hear from us before the deadline. Please note: Due to the volume of submissions, we will not send out updates on all submissions that are not accepted.

Who Can Submit?
World Healthcare Innovation and Technology Congress welcomes submissions from employers, providers, health plans, public purchasers, pharmaceutical companies, researchers, analysts, technology providers and consultants. We invite you to recommend or potentially participate as a presenter, expert panelist/commentator, or present a poster session in 2008.

Example Topics:
You are encouraged to submit abstracts on current and emerging issues related to and case studies concerning the use of technology integration in healthcare. Example topics may include, but are by no means not limited to*: The Electronic Health Record, RHIO Adoption, Bar Coding, CPOE, RFID Technologies, Emerging Technologies, Remote Monitoring Systems, Web Enabled Technologies, Patient Monitoring, Clinical Decision Support, PACS, Imaging Informatics, Reporting Medical Errors, Interoperability/Integration, Security/Privacy, Online Community Building, Disease Management Systems, Outsourcing, and Financial Management.

* Respondents to call for proposals are encouraged to recommend additional technology categories and emerging topics.

Review Process:
Abstract Review for 2008 submissions will be via a committee comprised of health care professionals serving on the World Congress advisory board. Conference managers will also review all abstracts. Content will be evaluated based on quality and relevance of topic, educational value, timeliness, and clearly identified objectives. World Congress will determine final decisions as to acceptance of abstracts and presentation format.

Requirements:
If selected for presentation, speakers agree to:

  • Submit PowerPoint presentations to World Congress at least 45 days prior to the conference.
  • Present information in an objective manner without bias to a particular company, program or product.
  • Information in the abstract submission can reproduced for use in conference materials including the electronic presentations (PDF only), documentation book and marketing materials.
  • Permission will be given for presentations to be reproduced and made publicly available on World Congress' conference website. General Suggestions.

Note:
World Congress is committed to providing quality continuing education (CE) activities to its conference attendees. As such, World Congress must adhere to the requirements of various accrediting bodies and professional organizations with which it collaborates. As World Congress strives to make as many of its educational activities as possible eligible for CE, we require the cooperation of all presenters (authors, faculty, etc.) in meeting CE requirements and following discipline-specific regulations.
