Capitalize on the Increasing Volume and Patient Complexity to Expand Opportunities in Observation
Emergency based observation care is shifting to hospital observation units. There is a significant increase not only in the volume of observation care, but in the level of complexity and severity of illness of patients staying in observation units. Observation units are reassessing how to adapt and capitalize on these changes. There continues to be a significant increase in psychiatric observation care that is causing observation units to have to pivot and learn how to best deal with this national crisis.
