Michael Adcock is the Executive Director of Telehealth Services at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, MS. Prior to this position, he was Chief Operations Officer at West Jefferson Medical Center. West Jefferson Medical Center is a 435 bed full service medical center in the Greater New Orleans market. In this role, Michael was responsible for over 600 employees and 18 direct reports. Prior to West Jefferson Medical Center, Michael was Vice President of Operations at Halifax Regional Medical Center in North Carolina. Michael worked at UMMC from 1998 through 2009. At UMMC, he started as a staff nurse and held numerous leadership positions with increasing levels of responsibility. Michael earned his Associates Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College and his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Michael is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He was awarded the 2006 American College of Healthcare Executives Regent’s award as Mississippi’s Young Healthcare Executive of the year. He was chosen as one of the 2008 Top 40 Under 40 by the Mississippi Business Journal. He served on the CFO/COO National Advisory Council for the O’Neil Center and received the 2014 Interactive Patient Care Champion at 2014 Interactive Patient Care Awards. Michael served on the South East Louisiana Association of Healthcare Executives Education committee as well as numerous other committees and boards. Dr. Sunil Budhrani is the Chief Medical Officer for Innovation Health, a uniquely successful partnership between Aetna and one of the largest health systems in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, INOVA Health System. Dr. Budhrani is a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Neuroscience and English. He went on to complete his Medical Degree at the George Washington University, where he then pursued his Masters in Public Health due to an interest in Population Health Dynamics. Subsequently, he completed his Residency training in Emergency Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Massachusetts, and went on to Chair and direct Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centers throughout the East Coast. Dr. Budhrani then served as the Chief Medical Officer of the Evergreen Health Cooperative Insurance for the State of Maryland and led the clinical course for medical technology, network development, member engagement, and Population Health for the Plan. He co-founded CareClix Telemedicine, a leading pioneer in Telemedicine and Remote Patient Monitoring technologies with users throughout the United States and abroad. He as well served as the Chair of the American Telemedicine Association's Guidelines Committee for Practice of Primary Care and Urgent Care Telemedicine, has authored many papers on the subject of Telemedicine, and is a National Speaker on Virtual Medical Care on such topics as Reducing Hospital Readmissions and Employing Telemedicine in Medical Practices. He currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and two daughters.

Ms. Wendy Cofran has been Chief Information Officer for Century Health Systems, Inc., the parent company of Natick Visiting Nurse Association (Natick VNA) and Distinguished Care Options (DCO) for over two decades. In this executive management role, Cofran has developed, and managed with unparalleled success cutting edge technology that is focused on enhancing quality, improving safety, reducing costs and increasing efficiency across the healthcare system.

As the national conversation turns to using technology to solve the challenges of improving health care outcomes, providing a 360 degree patient experience and driving down escalating costs Ms. Cofran's innovative, collaborative and “out-of-the-box” approach has set Century Health Systems and its affiliates apart from the crowd. This application increases clinical staff efficiency, provides more timely clinical documentation, and leads to improved patient outcomes and experience with the homecare agency. As the federal government moves to Value Based Payment for all health care providers, these positive results are also helping decrease the overall cost of providing care. Shauna Coyne is the director of Innovation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she oversees operations and enterprise technology implementation. At the NYP Innovation Center, our mission is to leverage the latest technology to improve the patient experience, hospital operations, and clinical outcomes for the NYP enterprise through digital healthcare innovation. Shauna was one of the original founders of the innovation department back in 2015. Prior to this role, she has worked in various departments at NYP such as Peri-Operative Services and Transplant. Shauna has been at New York-Presbyterian for 7 years.

Shauna has an honors degree in Business Information Systems from University College Cork, Ireland.

Neil C. Evans, MD is the Chief Officer for the Office of Connected Care in the Veterans Health Administration within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as a board-certified, practicing primary care internist at the Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). Prior to his current role, Dr. Evans served as a Co-Director of VA Connected Health.

Under Dr. Evans’ leadership, the Office of Connected Care is dedicated to improving services to Veterans, their families and Caregivers by increasing access, fostering continuity and promoting patient empowerment through digital health technologies. The Office of Connected Care brings together VA Telehealth Services and the Connected Health portfolio (comprised of My HealtheVet, VA Mobile Health and the VHA Innovation Program) to align VA health IT solutions under one umbrella to better meet the diverse needs of Veterans.

Connected Care Leadership oversees the development and implementation of enterprise-wide Veteran digital health strategies, which will transform care delivery across the care continuum and geography, and facilitates alignment of health information technologies within VHA to produce a consistent experience for users and continuously improve based on user input, research and evaluation.

In addition to his role with the Office of Connected Care, Dr. Evans manages a panel of patients at the Washington, D.C. VAMC, where he also serves as Associate Chief of Staff for Informatics.

Dr. Evans began his VA career after completing medical school at Johns Hopkins University and then his training in Internal Medicine through the Osler Medical Residency, also at Johns Hopkins. He received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware. He holds faculty appointments in Medicine at George Washington University and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

Dr. Julie Hall-Barrow is the vice president of virtual health and innovation at Children’s Health, the leading pediatric health system in North Texas. Since joining Children’s Health in October 2015, Dr. Hall-Barrow has strategically guided the system’s use of technology to increase access to quality health care, extending care beyond the hospital walls and into the communities where families live, learn and play.

She currently oversees one of the largest and fastest-growing school telemedicine programs in the country, as well as several unique and innovative virtual health programs like Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), TeleNICU/ER and the development of mobile health applications including My Asthma Pal. The aim of these programs is to improve long-term health outcomes and empower patient families to become active drivers of their own health care. Under Dr. Hall-Barrow’s direction, Children’s Health is currently operationalizing existing programs and developing new avenues to sustain and grow virtual health platforms.

As a passionate advocate for innovation and technology, she has provided guidance on influential legislation including House Bill 1878, which allows any provider in the state of Texas to be reimbursed for school-based telemedicine. She has also provided outreach and collaboration with national technology and health care organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics on how to seamlessly integrate technology into health care.

In addition to speaking on behalf of the Children’s Health system, Dr. Hall-Barrow has published research in peer-reviewed journals, presented around the globe on virtual health best practices, and been honored with many notable industry awards. In 2016, she was named one of the Most Powerful Women in Health Care IT by Health Data Management and was honored with the Achievement in Innovation in D CEO’s Excellence in Healthcare Awards.

Prior to joining Children’s Health, Dr. Hall-Barrow held leadership positions in health care transformation, including corporate health, chronic diseases management and telemedicine. She is considered a national and international expert in the field of telemedicine, including its use in pediatrics, neurology, emergent delivery methods and health care mobility. In Arkansas, she led the first statewide tele-stroke program and initiated the first statewide image repository program.

Dr. Hall-Barrow is the immediate past chair of the American Telemedicine Association Pediatric Special Interest Group, where she continues to provide leadership to both new and existing telehealth programs through education and research.

She holds a doctorate in higher education administration, a master’s degree in kinesiology and a bachelor’s degree in health education.

Jean Mixer a Vice President at Boston Children’s Hospital where she leads Strategy and Digital Health. In addition to her role in enterprise strategy, she is responsible for co-leading the Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator, and launching and managing remote and telehealth services. She has 25+ years of experience across the health care industry in developing winning strategies, business development, and new business launch. She launched and ran her own company for 8 years. She was formerly a partner at the Boston Consulting Group, a leading strategy consulting firm. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of a high-growth medical technology company.

In her 25+ years of experience, she has worked broadly across sectors. In health care, she has worked across the restructuring health care value chain including working with leading academic medical centers, integrated health care delivery networks, payers, pharmaceuticals, pharmacy/PBMS and medical devices. In addition she led accelerator and new business launch teams in e-commerce in consumer retail and financial services. She developed the strategy and launch plans for two businesses which are now $1B in size. She has a Master’s degree in Management from the Kellogg School of Management.

Dr. Robert Pearl is the former CEO of The Permanente Medical Group (1999-2017), the nation’s largest medical group, and former president of The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (2009-2017). In these roles, he led 9,000 physicians, 35,000 staff, and was responsible for the nationally recognized medical care of 4 million Kaiser Permanente members on the west and east coasts. Recently named one of Modern Healthcare’s 50 most influential physician leaders, Pearl is an advocate for the power of integrated, prepaid, technologically advanced and physician-led healthcare delivery.

He serves as a clinical professor of plastic surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine and is on the faculty of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he teaches courses on strategy and leadership, and lectures on information technology and health care policy.

In 2017 he authored “Mistreated: Why We think We’re Getting Good Healthcare—And Why We’re Usually Wrong” a Washington Post bestseller that offers a roadmap for transforming American healthcare. All proceeds from the book go to Doctors Without Borders.

As a regular contributor to Forbes, Pearl covers the business of healthcare and the culture of medicine. He has been featured on CBS This Morning, CNBC, NPR, and in TIME, USA Today and Bloomberg News. He has published more than 100 articles in various medical journals and contributed to numerous books. Board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Pearl received his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Stanford University.
