Marc Willard is the Senior Vice President of Humana Digital Health and Analytics (DH&A) Products and Experience. He is responsible for advancing Humana’s digital transformation through the development of digital products and strategies aimed at unifying and enhancing member, care team and associate experiences. In addition, he is responsible for discovering and engaging with leading-edge, third-party companies to accelerate the development of novel products foundational to Humana’s mission of helping people achieve lifelong well-being and making health care transparent, personalized, integrated and easy. As a representative of Humana, Marc also serves as a member of The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), Health and Fitness Technology Board.
Marc is an accomplished technology entrepreneur and senior leader with over three decades of experience establishing and leading startups focused on digital and data processing technologies, aimed at solving complex problems across the digital imaging, insurance and health care industries. In 1989, at the age of 24, he founded ColourPass Ltd., a European leader in the digital imaging market, which he successfully sold to Raster Graphics Inc. in 1997. In 2003, he founded Certify Data Systems Inc., a pioneer of health care interoperability technology, while working as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Ricoh Innovations. Certify became a prominent leader in provider-based health information exchange and interoperability throughout North America by 2011. In 2012, he successfully sold Certify to Humana.
In 2014, Marc launched Transcend Insights, a former wholly owned subsidiary of Humana. The organization’s mission was to drive better health and wellness outcomes by leveraging leading-edge, digital technology for population health. Today, these solutions are deployed across Humana’s business verticals.
Marc studied Electronic Engineering at Farnborough College of Technology, and in classic entrepreneurial style, left to focus on his first start-up.
Outside of work, Marc enjoys spending time with his wife and family, collecting classic cars and being out on the water. He also mentors entrepreneurs while supporting the startup community, which he finds very rewarding. |
