The Employers' Coalition on Health (ECOH) currently includes more than 120 northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin companies, representing nearly 50,000 covered lives. The ECOH has been chosen as a national lead pilot site for the Prometheus Payment Project.
Mr. Brand, the Executive Director of the ECOH is thrilled to present the distinguished delegation of this Summit with translatable lessons and take-aways from the pilot. ECOH’s pilot includes running live claims through the Prometheus engine and tracking ECR's by patient for each calendar year.
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Brand will be leading an in-depth case study for the Leadership Summit on Performance and Outcomes-Based Payment Models, February 25-26, 2010 in Orlando, FL.
His presentation addresses:
- Designing a system that helps physicians and patients reach a higher quality of care at lower cost that leads to a reduction in avoidable complications
- Partnering with SwedishAmerican Health System, OSF St. Anthony Medical Center and Rockford Health System to achieve a decrease in costs and complications
- Challenges of creating teams of providers or motivating providers to behave like they are in teams when designing incentives
- Sharing early results from claims run through the Prometheus engine, patient ECR tracking and implications for improvements in Prometheus methodology

At this Summit the audience will gain insight into the current state-of-the art on performance-based payment programs from the provider, physician, payer and employer perspectives as well as the newest alternative payment models like Geisinger's ProvenCare, the "Alternative Quality Contract" at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and outstanding Medical Home or ACO programs that are being discussed and debated on the national scene as solutions to the current problem with our health care system.
