Topic A: Using Decision Support to Engage Employee Consumerism, Understand Buying Behavior, and Drive Healthcare Strategy |
| Raytheon engages its population in making an informed health plan selection through the use of online decision support. Employees and retirees use these tools to determine which medical plan best meets their personal and financial needs. Rose Umile, Raytheon’s Senior Manager of Employee Benefits, will discuss how the company uses the data generated by use of these tools to better understand its population’s buying behavior and drive its healthcare strategy.

Topic B: Guiding Consumers in Making Appropriate Decisions Regarding Health, Consumption of Services and Budget Management |
| A new health system paradigm of consumer responsibility and accountability is evolving. What will consumers use to guide them in making appropriate decisions regarding their health, consumption of services, and health budget management? What will new social contracts with providers be like? What messages will providers have to offer to increasingly discriminating consumers as a new 'retail' healthcare market begins to emerge and develop? What will consumers find important in the way of information on science, cost and quality? Which self-help tools will matter, and why? Will consumer trust in health plans improve?
