| Leading by Example was launched by Partnership for Prevention in October 2004 to serve as a vehicle to drive CEO-to-CEO outreach on the benefits of looking at employee health care as an investment rather than a cost. Participating CEOs “lead by example”— they have made health promotion and disease prevention a part of their business strategy and culture. These companies realize the link between the health of their organizations and the health of their employees. To date, Partnership for Prevention has secured the involvement of 19 CEOs in this initiative including 10 from the Fortune 200. Participating CEOs use innovative models to channel resources that help position the health of employees as a vital component of organizational success, and their companies are focusing on preventing disease and optimizing employee health and wellness. This is leading to healthier employees and a healthier bottom line. In this session, executives from companies with leading practice worksite health promotion programs will highlight strategic reasons for company investments in worksite health.
