Ronald A. Paulus, MD, MBA is Geisinger’s Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, responsible for ensuring system-wide innovation. His responsibilities include: Geisinger Ventures, the system’s new business formation and intellectual property commercialization function; and Clinical Innovation, leading the system's initiatives focused on care transformation through patient activation, novel technologies and care redesign.
Prior to joining Geisinger Health System, Dr. Paulus was Chief Healthcare Officer for Quovadx, Inc., (NASDAQ: QVDX) which acquired CareScience, Inc., a NASDAQ company providing clinical solutions to improve healthcare quality and efficiency where he had been President and CEO. Before joining CareScience, Dr. Paulus served as Vice President, Operations of Salick Health Care, Inc., a NASDAQ company providing oncology and dialysis services which was subsequently acquired by AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Paulus received his MD degree from The School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, and his MBA, concentration in healthcare management, and BS in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
