Dr. Atreja has received formal training in public health and is board certified in gastroenterology, clinical informatics and internal medicine. Over the last fifteen years, he has led many public health and informatics initiatives at Cleveland Clinic and Mount Sinai Medical Center, NY that includes developing online education modules, leading EHR implementation, performing analytics on healthcare data and developing enterprise-wide mobile apps. As Chief Technology Innovation and Engagement Officer, Medicine, he leads the Sinai AppLab (www.sinaiapplab.org) that is one of the first collaborative hub within academic medical center to build and test disruptive mhealth technologies.

Dr. Atreja leads scientific registries for American Gastroenterology Association and serves in Innovation Advisory Board for American College of Cardiology. As an intrapreneur, Dr. Atreja has won innovation awards at Cleveland Clinic and Mount Sinai, successfully licensed technologies from academic centers and advises startups, accelerators and Fortune 500 companies in digital medicine. Recently, Dr. Atreja established Network of Digital Medicine (www.nodehealth.org) to connect innovation centers worldwide and share best practices for digital medicine innovation and implementation between industry, payers and health systems. Dr. Atreja serves as Scientific Co-founder for Mount Sinai Spinoff, Responsive Health (http://responsivehealth.org) that aims to bring first enterprise-wide app curation, prescription and engagement platform to risk sharing hospitals and payers. Dr. Atreja has published more than 60 papers and has been a keynote speaker globally on topics related to digital medicine and health system transformation.

Neil Gomes (B.Sc., MBA/MMS, M.Ed) is the Senior Vice President for Technology Innovation and Consumer Experience and Chief Digital Officer at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health System. Neil has worked for the Fortune 500 Tata Group of Companies where he played a leadership role in building the intrapreneurial startup, Tata Interactive Systems, from 60 employees to the world’s largest custom e-learning development firm with 650+ employees in less than two years. Neil left the Tata Group to complete his M.Ed. in Instructional Design at the University of South Florida (USF) whilst progressively working towards the position of Director of eTeaching and Technology and then the Director of Instructional Design and Training at USF Health. While at USF, Neil’s leadership and entrepreneurial acumen helped grow a strategic team of application developers, instructional and multimedia designers, and project managers that generated over $1.5 million in annual auxiliary revenue from research and external development projects while growing online student enrollment from approx. 200 enrollments in 2002 to 60,000+ enrollments a semester by 2012. While at USF, Neil also began working toward his Ph.D., is currently a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD), has authored research articles, a book chapter, and delivered several formal research presentations. At Jefferson, Neil drives digital innovation in healthcare, consumer experience and engagement, training, and education via teams of application and web/mobile developers, portal solutions developers, simulation and UI/UX designers, trainers, documentation and digital consumer experience specialists, instructional designers, e-learning developers, and IT support specialists. Neil also helps define innovation strategy and design innovation development programs via Jefferson’s Innovation Team. Recently, he helped secure a $15+ million donor grant from the Bernie Marcus Foundation to develop a high-tech, consumer-centric, integrative health center at Jefferson and also launched a pioneering collaboration with the IBM Watson IoT team on developing "cognitive concierges" for hospitals. Neil serves as Associate Editor of the Journal for Healthcare Transformation and is a contributor toward the book: We CAN fix Healthcare, the Future is NOW. Neil is also a speaker, agile aficionado, and digital innovation evangelist.

Patrick Hammond joined Emory Healthcare in 1991 as an Administrative Resident. He is now a member of the Emory Healthcare Executive Leadership Team.

As Chief Executive Officer of the Emory Healthcare Network, he has leadership responsibility for Emory’s Clinically Integrated Network. As Chief Market Services Officer, he is responsible for managed care; market development, and outreach strategies; credentialing, enrollment and medical staff support; data analytics and market research.

Mr. Hammond is a graduate of Emory University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1991 he received a Master of Health Administration from Duke University.

Wright L. Lassiter III is the President and CEO of Henry Ford Health System, overseeing the $5.5 billion health system comprised of six hospitals, a health plan and a wide range of ambulatory and retail health services consisting of more than 60 clinical locations and 28,000 employees.

Lassiter joined Henry Ford in December 2014 as president. In his first year, he led the Board and senior management team through a comprehensive strategic planning effort to position Henry Ford for the future. In addition, he oversaw two successful mergers, one with Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan, and the other with HealthPlus of Michigan, a health plan based in Flint, expanding the geographic footprint of the System and generating an additional $1 billion in revenue.

A seasoned health care executive, Lassiter has more than 25 years of experience working in large, complex health systems, including Methodist Health System in Dallas and JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to joining Henry Ford, Lassiter was CEO of Alameda Health System in Oakland, California, where he was credited with leading the expansion and turnaround of the $865 million public health system, achieving eight years of positive financial performance, The Joint Commission Top Performer status, significant increases in patient engagement and reductions in patient harm.

Lassiter’s work has received many national accolades, most notably “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare in 2017/2016” by Modern Healthcare; 2016/2012 “Top 25 Minority Healthcare Executives in U.S. Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare; 2014 “Top Blacks in U.S. Healthcare” by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions; and 2011 “20 People Who Make Healthcare Better” in the U.S by HealthLeaders. Fast Company prominently featured Lassiter’s work to rebuild Alameda.

An avid community leader, Lassiter has held volunteer positions at the United Way, Salvation Army and YMCA. Currently, he serves on the boards of the American Hospital Association, America’s Essential Hospitals, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago – Detroit Branch, Detroit Regional Chamber, LeMoyne College, City Year Detroit, and YMCA-USA National Board of Directors.

Lassiter received his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Indiana University where he graduated number one in his class, and completed his bachelor’s degree with honors in Chemistry from LeMoyne College in Syracuse.

Dr. Jonathan Lewin was appointed the Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, Emory University; Executive Director, Woodruff Health Sciences Center; and the President, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Emory Healthcare, in February 2016. Prior to his Emory appointment, Dr. Lewin served as the Senior Vice President for Integrated Healthcare Delivery and Co-Chair for Strategic Planning for Johns Hopkins Medicine, as well as the Martin Donner Professor and Chairman of the Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at Johns Hopkins University and the Radiologist-in-Chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, with secondary appointments as Professor of Oncology, Neurosurgery and Biomedical Engineering.

Prior to his position at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Lewin was the Director of the Division of Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the University Hospitals of Cleveland and Vice Chairman for Research and Academic Affairs in the Department of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Lewin received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Brown University in 1981 and his Doctor of Medicine from Yale University in 1985. Following his internship in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital and residency in diagnostic radiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland, he completed a magnetic resonance research fellowship in Germany, a neuroradiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, and additional training in head and neck radiology at the Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr. Lewin has been a pioneer in interventional and intraoperative MR imaging and has published approximately 200 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and more than 60 chapters, reviews, commentaries and other invited papers on topics, including the basic science and clinical aspects of interventional MR imaging, functional MR imaging, head and neck imaging, MR angiography, small animal imaging and the imaging of acute stroke.

Dr. Lewin is an inventor on more than 25 patents, and has been PI and co-PI on NIH and other federal and state grants with awards of more than $10 million in direct costs, as well as a co-investigator on a number of other grants and projects. He is a Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and of the American College of Radiology, and has given more than 150 invited lectures on a number of topics in magnetic resonance imaging, intervention and neuroradiology. He has served on numerous national committees, editorial boards and grant review groups for foundations and the NIH, and on the task force on minimally invasive cancer therapy for the National Cancer Institute.

He is currently president of the American Roentgen Ray Society (North America's oldest Radiology professional organization), president of the International Society for Strategic Studies in Radiology, president-elect of the Society of Chairs of Academic Radiology Departments, and immediate past-president of the Association of University Radiologists and of the Academy for Radiology Research.

Jill Piazza, PT, DPT serves as Vice President of Care Integration at the Population Health Services Organization of Adventist Health System (AHS). She is a physical therapist, graduating with her Master’s Degree in 2000 and her doctorate in 2008 from Simmons College, Boston, MA.

Originally from the New England area, she began her career with Florida Hospital in 2002, working at Florida Hospital DeLand first as the Manager of rehab services and then as the Director. In her role she oversaw the operations of the Rehabilitative Services departments, Diabetes Education, Wellness/Cardiopulmonary Rehab, as well as the Orthopaedic and Women’s Service Lines.

In 2012, Jill moved into a regional director role focused on growing health and wellness programming for the hospitals in the Central Florida Division – North Region of Florida Hospital. In 2014, she launched a high-risk care coordination program for underserved patients, and in 2015 moved into a new role as VP of Care Integration for the Central Florida Division – North Region. Since that time, her care integration role expanded and she is now working to further the population health strategy of AHS.

In her current role, Jill is currently responsible for the development and integration of a longitudinal care management model, in addition to quality/performance improvement and member experience at the Population Health Services Organization of AHS.

Jill is involved in the community and sits on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Volusia/Flagler Counties. She is also a past Executive Board member of the Fun Coast Worksite Wellness Council and past board member of One Voice for Volusia.

Jill and her husband Charlie, also a physical therapist, reside in Ormond Beach, FL and have two sons, ages 12 and 9.

JANET TOMCAVAGE, RN, MSN, is Chief Clinical Transformation Officer for Geisinger Health Plan in Danville, Pennsylvania. In this role, she is responsible for the administrative oversight of health services including medical management, appeals and grievances, quality improvement, clinical reporting, accreditation, medical home, disease/case management, and wellness.

Ms. Tomcavage has worked for over 20 years in the specialty of diabetes management, developing a comprehensive diabetes self-management education program and specialized care management programs for insulin pump therapy and high-risk pregnancy. More recently her work has focused on the development and implementation of enhanced medical management strategies including medical home, disease management and case management interventions that optimize quality and efficiency outcomes.

Ms. Tomcavage earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Bloomsburg State University and her master of science in nursing from College Misericordia. Ms. Tomcavage has held certifications as a certified diabetes educator and advanced practice for diabetes management. She has co-authored several articles on diabetes management and disease management and has lectured nationally on diabetes management, disease and case management, medical home, and other medical management strategies.

Dr. Wild received his MD degree from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. His internship and residency training were at Letterman Army Medical Center, San Francisco; San Francisco General Hospital; and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He served five years as an active duty officer with the US Army Medical Corps and also served as a Department of Defense civilian emergency medicine specialist at Martin Army Hospital, Fort Benning, Georgia. Dr Wild earned his BA in Biology from Dartmouth College, his JD degree from the George Washington University National Law Center in Washington, DC, and his MBA from the Columbia University Graduate Business School, in New York City.

Dr. Wild has 30 years of experience as a practicing emergency physician ranging from small rural Georgia hospitals to large university teaching centers. He has served on the Medical School faculties of Boston University, University of Massachusetts, and Brown University and was Chairman of the department of Emergency Medicine and Chief of Emergency Services at a teaching hospital of Brown University Medical School. He has taught emergency medicine, health policy and legal medicine to resident physicians and medical students and has served as President of the Rhode Island College of Emergency Physicians, and as chairman or member of several American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and American Medical Association (AMA) national committees dealing with government affairs, coding, and physician reimbursement.

Dr. Wild is an active member of the Massachusetts and US Federal bar and has practiced as a health care attorney with a large Boston law firm representing hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities and a major Boston teaching hospital. He was medical director of Medicare’s direct fiscal intermediary in Baltimore and also CMS (then HCFA) Chief Medical Officer for reimbursement policy during the initial implementation the Hospital Prospective Payment (DRG) system. He subsequently served on the Medicare Prospective Payment Assessment Commission staff (now MedPac).
