The World Health Care Congress Leadership Summit on Alternative Delivery Models of Care is designed for hospital business development and strategy executives to evaluate both the cost and clinical effectiveness of alternative delivery models – retail, urgent care, on-site workplace clinics and freestanding emergency centers. As health care moves toward more market competition, alternative treatment settings have emerged, competing directly with the primary care office and hospital-based emergency department. Meeting consumer need for immediate medical care when the ED is overcrowded or the regular physician office is closed, patients now have viable alternatives and the future of health care in the U.S. is at a turning point. By attending this event executives will gain an in-depth understanding of the strategic assessment and initial investment required for an organization to enter this competitive market and be able to:
- EVALUATE retail clinics, urgent care centers and freestanding emergency centers as new access points to your network and as a means to secure patient referrals
- DETERMINE optimal staffing, coding and reimbursement strategies, and the delicate balance of care delivered in an ER vs. an alternative setting
- EXPAND the outreach of your hospital brand in the community to increase revenues and reduce the utilization of the ER
- CREATE partnerships and co-branding ventures with retailers and independent "pure play" operators in their community
- ALIGN these models of care with the patient centered medical home by incorporating wellness and disease management programs
- DEVELOP strategies for contracting with health plans, Self-Insured Employers, Medicare and state Medicaid programs
- POSITION retail clinics as "physician extenders" and create a delivery network that includes alternative care
- BUILD the business case on how these alternative delivery models of care benefit all sectors of the community
- INCREASE patient satisfaction and loyalty by reducing wait times by increasing access to primary care physicians
